Standing Tall in his Stubbornness
His strength on show for his demons to see
He tore up his demons in his never ending nightmares,
Swallowing his pride with every winning fight,
Thrashing the beasts bloody with pain and suffering,
Bringing duty and light to the darkest of night.
***
Sorely tested and tried from the moment the sun sinks,
Learning the same lessons over and over again,
Wisdom his ultimate outcome to be blessed at dawn,
Worthy of the fight regardless of his tormenting pain.
***
Tomorrow’s sun will shine brighter because of his battles,
Every thrashing beating bettering his time to shine,
Demon upon demon beaten bloody and raw,
As they crash and tumble by his design.
***
He rides the waves of destruction with an artfulness,
Tumbling and turning upon his golden glory,
Strength his master, stubbornness his discipline,
Born into this world as it is his story.
***
Ripening with age, maturing with wisdom,
Every nightmare a notch upon his worn belt,
Tugging wickedness and forever restraining,
Every bruise and gnash horribly felt.
***
Sinking to the depths of his demons lows,
Striking with fierce rage at their famous antics,
Ridding the world one demon at a time,
Half their battles are over semantics.
***
He has become his own saviour, his own blood thirsty hero,
Due to the crippling betrayals of those he called friend,
Alone and realising he needed no other,
He found he could happily walk away at the end.
***
Superficial kindness a destructive force on its own,
And one he found he never really missed,
Walk away now unless you can offer him sincerity,
Or learn to face his wraith when you are dismissed.
***
Gone are the days where he’ll tolerate your cruelty,
Demons be gone, as he no longer has the time,
Wrapped within the fiercest desert storm,
He will scale the walls, from the bottom he’ll climb.
***
Self sufficient within his greatest accomplishment,
Projecting his battles upon the face of his nights,
Demons beware, he’s on a nightly rampage,
Destroying and battling in earnest as he wins his fights.
***
He stands every morning wearing the gore of his winnings,
Tall and proud, he stands as the man he has become,
Battling his tormentors, fighting hard and strong,
And yet still finding the strength and wisdom to forgive some.
***
However, do not judge his forgiveness as his weakness,
Whereby it’s bigger than any that has succumbed so far,
There’s madness to his methods, you’ll not ever know,
So stand back, play nice, do not become a blip on his radar.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

He's a powerful man. Well done.
There's madness to this methods so don't become a blip on his radar! Gosh I loved those two lines so much! I merged them, lol! This was such a powerful poem!
Good word-crafting!
Reading this was a sheer pleasure. Your powers of description are on display here. This one deserves at least a second read, so I will give it that right now. Well done!!! P.S.: It is just as powerful the second time around.
Mastering the night terrors. I finally told myself that nightmares were simply scary movies I got to sleep through without missing anything. Once I'd persuaded myself of that, I wanted to get back to sleep as quickly as possible to find out what happened next. One night, I did so four times for a total of five chapters in the same nightmare.
Powerfully bold and surreal!!! Loved it!!!
