YELLOW, GREEN, AND PURPLE
Spring is yellow, green, and purple.
Also white.
Yellow: daffodils and dandelions.
Green: new buds on the trees, grass growing.
Purple:clover blossoms, redbud trees.
Also white: dogwood trees.

WINTER'S FINGERNAILS
The grass is wet and very green
The sky is gray from fog and rain.
The air is cool.
Winter's fingernails are are digging into Spring's arms,
Quietly growling, "Not yet, not yet.
It's still my turn."
