Spring Rain

Falling

By Colleen WaltersPublished 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

The rain splashed down off the roof

and droplets tumbled from her eyelashes

as she stood in the aisle, hearing the rain

pelting the metal roof, tapping a

melodic rhythm into her head.

The heart called out and thought it heard

a reply, but it was just an echo.

She'd been fleetingly happy once, and a

memory spiraled upwards like a ribbon

until it floated out of sight.

She watched it disappear, and then

headed up to the house to make

some more coffee.

““Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”
