Splendor

Poetry

By Lana BroussardPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

The concept of endless

where time nonchalantly

dusts off her secret diary

pure decadence

in sea air

wave upon wave

expiring into air

swimming in a pearl sea

one vast starry night

as the universe unfolds

a gypsy reading tea leaves

after the swelter

a million suns

the island force

then comes a tropical frost

the mixing of salt and sand

rows of cane bending low

write my name in sugar

promises forge between

hostility and peace

the climate caresses

as the sorrow roses

become crowded with blooms

counting carts

loaded with lemons

touch down in late afternoon

magnificent Spain

burnishing in splendor

surreal poetry
