Speaking In Whispers

Spoken Word Piece

We continue to speak,

if only in whispers,

to somthing inside that longs to be named.

We're arias to speak, shout it out, to scream at the top of our lungs.

Because we forget the names or people that have been named in our lives.

We do this in order to live with what people have done to us or to themselves.

We talk in whsiper so others can't hear how broken we are or all are within these times.

Self worth and self-esteem are kept shoved down in our lungs so we can't speak louder than the everyday whispers.

The whispers get louder if you start to forgive, forget and live with others in harmony.

We think so little of ourselves.

We are afraid to speak louder then the whispers that we have been taught.

No more whispers.

I say we scream at the top of our lungs.

Shake every bone in our body til it hurts.

Your words do mean something,

you just have to stop whispering.

Learn to scream and shout,

or even cry out as much as you want.
