Pine cones eject

Heavy with nuts and

Resin, striking at peak viscosity

Launched from their

Lodging high amongst

The needles and branches

✧・゚✧・゚✧ WHOOO-OWWWW-OOOOOHH ✧・゚✧・゚✧

The wind whips and howls

In a maniacal frenzy

Running circles

Around drooping bushes and trees

Flinging hither and thither

Raining needles in sharp

Chaotic sprays

A violent flurrying

Slashes the monotone

Landscape

Shaded hash marks

Slowly add depth to the scene

As close-shouldered aspens

Quake and shine

Light bounces off the

Snowy sheen and

Bark, papery fine

They huddle, swaying

In ecstatic succor

Barren arms raised

In pendulous praise to the

Openly flowing heavenly vaults

✧・゚✧・゚✧ PTH-TKK-TCH-FF-PP-PP-PTH ✧・゚✧・゚✧

Safe behind glass as

The storm rolls past

I gape, mesmerized by

Floating opalescent flakes

My sight cavorts within

The powder

Drawn to sun-flare glimmers

It plays and falls in the

Swirling squall

Dancing crystals

Accumulate, collecting in

Small aggregations

Smattering against the

Fogging glass panes

The ideal display for a snowflake’s

Anomalous magnificence

Momentarily lit

Each miracle of crystalline beauty

A fleeting reminder to

Take pleasure in the

Spectacular processes of life

˚・゚˚・゚✧shunk-HICH-SHHRRUMMMMMMMMM —wheeeeeeeee ✧・゚˚・゚˚

The heater drones away

Rattling and moaning

With a pressurized whistle like a

Jet trundling down the runway

It blasts back a burst of

Frozen white air

Snuck in on the tail

Of my bounding

Snow hound

I sweep up scattered white

Fanning arrays

Kicked in on chilly paws and legs

Tossed out the door into

Dunes drifting in the storm

Warming up and

Drying off needs

Cups of tea and

Sipping broth to

Revitalize on this

Snowy January day
