Soul-catcher

a poem

When I engaged in conversation with him,

there was an undeniable presence of magic.

Right from the beginning,

it felt as though I was conversing with a long-lost friend.

It is rare, this feeling, and yet

In the work settings, much hard to get .

It was unsettling when things took its turn for the worse,

as one would naturally assume

that having someone to confide in

would be a blessing in its pure form.

This was not the case

when our discussions delved into deeper matters and tears flowed.

It was as if two floodgates had simultaneously burst open,

bounced off the stranger’s ears

with no one else able to fully comprehend or empathise.

I spent the whole day listening to the nonsense in my head.

I wonder if other writers also hide their face to escape it.

Nobody wants to read some cheap gobbledegook.

There are mirrors everywhere,

they reflect

the path to self-improvement,

but the darker side can't handle it

whatever comes its way.

Similar to an empty plate,

a swirling, wriggling, jumbled mess,

it confuses itself.

Like a cruel destiny,

it denies life in its new shape.
