soothsaying / in the same vein

on the playground, our veins were the oracle for

glimpsing our future families; arguments ensued

over the line between purple (girl) and blue (boy).

on occasion, someone would settle a hypothetical,

whoop TWINS! like The Game of Life. This was

before I squirmed at the notion of the body, fated.
