My mind again is filled with much self-doubt
Of what I can do, of what I can be
I cannot simply push these bad thoughts out
I must carry them close, for all to see
And in my head they, mull and muse and speak
Of failures far past, of loves not fulfilled
Of how I both sound and act like a freak
It may be that someday, they get me killed
For when despair does make me feel weighed down
It seems as though I will never have relief
It comes and encircles me all around
To steal my time away, much like a thief
Music can help me push through the dark fog
And break the chains that these thoughts do clog
