Sonnet 60 (My Translation)

By Birmingham Museums Trust on Unsplash

Like waves move toward the pebbled shore, our lives make way to their end, each minute changing places with the ones before, trying to move forward and with success. Everything born now and before, once swam in an ocean of light before birth and they work their way up the shores to maturity, fighting obstacles to their glory. But Time which gives everything to all, destroys that gift. Time takes the beauty of youth, making wrinkles in beauty's forehead. Time consumes the scarcity of nature's truth. There is nothing in existence that time won't mow with its scythe. Yet my versus will last forever, praising your worth and beauty despite Time's savage hand.

Melancholy Waters

On silent Waters,

Reflections are grey and sad,

On the gloomy sea.

Smiling Waters

Dancing are the waves,

Reflecting the shining sun,

And the happy day.

Raging Waters

Anger builds the waves,

Blackness shining from the depths,

From which none return.

[B]Call of the Sinking Ship

By Casey Horner on Unsplash

Great white sails waved in the sky

Calling out to other ships nearby

Her gigantic hull gaped with a hole

A thousand times bigger than a porthole

She groaned in pain

Trying in vain

To get her precious saylors to safety

Before she sank to the bottom of the sea

The Faithful Sailor

By Oliver Sjöström on Unsplash

Long ago in ancient days,

A young man kneels and prays.

He kneels atop a mountain,

Which sits by a beach,

And inquires of his Master,

Asking, 'How shall my family and I cross the great waters?'

The Lord replied saying, 'You shall build a ship.'

The young man said again until his Lordship,

'How could I build a ship when I have no knowledge thereof?'

The Lord smiled down upon the young man.

'How did you come upon this land?'

The young man replied, 'You showed us with thine own hand.'

The Lord smiled again and said, 'According to your faith all will be shown.'

Lost to the Sea

By Artak Petrosyan on Unsplash

The new mother whale leaped with joy.

Her child was born a strong healthy boy.

Although joy lasts forever, happiness does not.

Sadly the sea had the child's fate pulled taught.

The healthy child soon became sickly.

Getting worse weekly.

She sensed her little boy's life slipping away that night

And she stayed up all night just to play one last time till twilight.
