Song or Poetry

For my latest cancer fundraiser, one of the raffle items was a CD and a song
written about the winner and even a big chance it will be recorded.
My first thought was I want to win this. Together we could make it a strong
song, that people would enjoy, and maybe learn from. It started
to look good as my daughter bought 12 tickets and could've won it,
but someone else bought 10 tickets, and did win it. Oh shit, that bit.
~
For rap I was told around 11-14 syllables
Maybe 6-11 for regular songs
A rapping medicine man told me 7
and if I want to get to heaven
~
I would consider spoken word
No, he didn't say that heaven bit, the nerd
The nerd, a medicine man, a great nephew
No, he won't mind, he won't be blue
~
Yes, we are related through adoption
his grandmother is my sister and has an option
on what I do or don't do for money
Just kidding, no money honey
~
What kind of song would this make
Perfect for the song about a snake
What kind of snake you ask
a Gartner snake is a safe task
~
As you can tell, I am not doing well
I thought write a poem and keep it short
And then my brain is not working, oh hell
It would help to write with someone, a cohort
~
I just might suggest this today
as I go to pray for the water
on this bright and sunny day
okay, wishful thinking a plotter
~
Halloween passed me by
I didn't even have one hi
I attended a meeting at five
and got home by seven
Normally grands would jive
and leave me a bit of heaven
~
There is that heaven again
Time to end this then
Do you think the song should be
about Heaven, well maybe?
