Song of Myself

More Than Just a Girl.

By ROXANNE ELKASSISPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

I am the lost soul no aim, nor goal but to wander

and to see the world.

I am the dancer freely prancing oblivious —

in my movements.

I am the blood rush that you feel when

you hear my siren song, one of the nine

muses made by the gods to inspire.

I am the narcissist messiah that in each of you

will soon be found or brought out

I am that scared little girl left

scarred and dirty.

I am the embodiment of the abused yet

I am also the stars that shine brilliantly

in the night sky.

I am the lonely yet you will see me

I am the girl surrounded by people

I am Aphrodite

I am Erida.

I am the sweet nectar you inject

into your mortal veins only to

have it sucked out of putrid lips.

I am what leaves the lines between

fantasy and reality beautifully obscured.

I am your addiction

I am the I am.
