Somewhere

The place where you are

Somewhere,

Deep in slumber

Frosted glass and footsteps in the snow

Cheeks flushed pink with joy

A mist of breath, a smile, casts your silence to the air

Always silent in dreams

And waiting,

for me

You turn,

a fading a light

The sun stealing its warmth away,

below the horizon line

.

Somewhere,

A place I cannot reach

Lull me to sleep

Linger your hand on my frosted cheek

Turn the light, shone through emerald green and flecks of gold

— treasure —

One moment

Frozen as the lake

Yet only the surface

Delicate and sure to break

under your footsteps

.

Let me dive beneath

into the icy heat

Don't let me wake

Never wake

Stay always

In the softness

of floating flake

.

Stay.
