Something Winter This Way Comes

seasons change

By Jada FergusonPublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

The wind is whimsical

A flittering breeze scoops up leaves

They swirl in a slow jazz paced tsunami of

Bulbous Browns,

Robust Reds,

Ostentatious Oranges,

Yogic Yellows, and

Gregarious Greens

-

The sun shimmers in the eye of this storm

Warming the chill in the air

-

Outside feels like the inside of a fuzzy hat

The runners are still in their shorts

Pumpkin spice is barreling out of cafes

Parks are filled with lovers

-

It's all very Hallmark

-

The moon clocks in earlier

-

The air is abrasive

The wind has whooping cough

Your breath gets sealed off mid speech

The trees go bald

Shards of ice slit the skin on its way to the ground

Clusters of fluff parade from cloud to earth

-

The sun shows up to work

Shellacked of it's glimmer

The toastiness has dissipated

The people have to warm themselves now
