Something More Than It Is

There's so much

Music being played

And blaring out,

And so many stories

Being told

And shared

In the same volume

And frequency,

As if they were

One and the same.

Maybe that's

One reason why

It feels too much...

Because

I'm trying

To desperately

Hold on

To all of it,

The good and the bad,

The terrible and the beautiful,

Like trying to catch water

With just my bare hands

And knowing

In the end

I'll barely be able

To hold on

To any of it.

But that's OK.

Because it's

Feeling and being

A part of all of it

That makes life

Something more than it is—

Like water,

Like music.
