The world is smoldering

with the fires of another useless war,

designed as distraction, designed as policy.

to great endings, illusions lifting,

the final shudders of a decaying empire.

Nero seeks to hide the cracking foundation

with garish gilded gold, erecting

monuments to himself at every opportunity,

Spring is here now, the equinox paired

with brilliant Mercury emerging

from its hibernation, which tells us

Soon Neptune will station in the heart of Sol,

dissolving the stories we’ve been told,

offering the opportunity for new foundations

because something is beginning, I think.

We are witnessing the final paroxysms,

the death of the old ways, the splintering

of falsehood and bravado and ego,

because something is beginning, I think.

The only way to survive it all, to endure the pain,

is to recognize our shared humanity,

realize we are all eternal souls living a human experience.
