Someone new

…again

By Cathy ServinisPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

You now spend time

Trying to be someone you are not

For someone new.

You barely talk with me anymore,

Yet in your absence

I am finally seeing you

For who you really are.

She thinks you are warm and caring.

Little does she know you are cold

Dismissive, selfish and unkind.

I serve no purpose to you now

So you make minimal effort.

You used me to make your life easier.

Now that you don’t need me,

You have disregarded me

Like an old, worn, frayed jumper.

Pushed to the back of the cupboard.

But wretched soul,

Please do not search

For the warmth of my embrace

When your deceitful world

Eventually comes crashing down around you.
