Childhood tears,
Bubbles floating in the air,
Skinned knees,
Busted balloons,
Clowns that scare,
The boogeyman under the bed,
All those childhood fears -
Someday it won’t matter.
*
First Love
Heartbreaks by the dozen
Smiles and Laughter
Friends that really care
Frustrations and scares,
School vacations,
Bopping to rock and roll songs -
Someday it won’t matter.
*
Love that is true
Never feeling blue,
You and me against the world
Fears and tears
Passionate kisses shared
Dreaming by candlelight
Just you and me -
Someday it won’t matter.
*
Left alone,
Love had flown
Dreams and memories that remain
Among the twinkling stars
You shine your love on me
Someday it won’t matter -
As we promenade down the Milky Way hand in hand.
