Some Things Can’t Be Fixed

I wouldn’t try to fix them either

Some Things Can’t Be Fixed

I tried to mend what was already torn,

to stitch together pieces that would not stay.

Every effort felt like water on stone,

slipping through my fingers no matter how I held.

I wanted to turn back the hands of time,

erase mistakes and soften the blows.

Some scars remain permanent,

etched deep where no healing can reach.

Pain lingers in quiet moments,

reminding me of what cannot return.

I speak to the empty air for comfort,

hearing only the echo of my own voice.

I move forward with what remains,

accepting truths that cannot change.

Within that acceptance, fragile peace appears,

a reminder that survival itself is strength.
