The responsibility of this day
Is ever greater with meaning for all
To be the longest giver of light, warmth,
And alas though for long it shall not stay
Far from the season of winter, which doth
Bring the longest night, frigid cold to all
•
This summer solstice that brings such life, joy
Is that which all may find happiness in
A warm wind that brings in the scents of June
May tow the dark clouds of a stormy ploy
Baskets of good food for all to eat soon
Pools and lakes for a splendid cooling swim
•
Laughter and bonding, that each hold onto
Memories; causing smiles long after
Families that cherish this time while near
Remember them when life leads death unto
That winter in which no warm thought may fear
For a new summer will come; new chapter
•
Each year it brings the longest day; cherish
For each year it brings too new memories
Sights of the birds, kites, and fluffy white clouds
The scent of a beach or river with fish
All manner of fun and joy is allowed
Summer solstice, peace which puts us at ease
•
Sounds of both children and adults alike
Give way to stillness of each summer night
The feel of a fire, heat licks your face
Summer is sacred in this peaceful place
None may disturb the joy made in Summers
This time is pure, enjoyed by the lovers
