The taste on their tongues
Bitter and cold
So still so strong they stand
Shoulder to shoulder in their proud uniforms
Protecting land from land
He or she standing there
saving our country
fighting a war to save us
in their green uniforms
proudly protecting us
The soldiers do their jobs,
we ration goods to save money,
we start liberty bonds,
we all help out with the war,
not just the soldiers
We miss the soldier,
she left to protect America,
our dog misses her,
we just need to pray everyday,
she came home,
happiness filled our world of minds
