So Shines the Emerald

Baby Blue May Babe

Emerald Lake, Canada

I, the May baby…

I want everything blue

Light blue to match the summer skies

Dark blue like lakes at dusk

All the ocean’s hues

Blue, the color of my eyes

Clothing, notebooks, bedroom décor

Everything in shades of blue

So…

Imagine my disappointment

Learning that my birthstone is green

I once sought the lovely sapphire

But no—imposter!

I am absolutely May in everything I am

And so, in all things representative

Of my birth month, I shun the blues

And don the finest greens

So shines the emerald on my finger

So shines the emerald against my throat

Though I confess

I always seek those stones

With hints of blue in the green

I am May

But I am also blue

Blue Emerald

It's my birthday month...

May The 4th Be With You!

Since I had to get older, show me a little love by clicking that heart below...

Tips, while never mandatory, are certainly VERY appreciated.
