so much more than a body

My body is the least interesting thing about me.

I am so much more than this shell I inhabit.

I am vivid, real, amorous.

Strong, contemplative, tireless.

I am conscious of these qualities within me.

I give more than I should,

I love with everything I have.

When will i start to give myself

the love and patience that I show to everyone else?

Why do I place so much of my self worth on my appearance?

How can I unlearn all of the things I have been told since

I was only a little girl?

I wish that I could hold her, and tell her that she is lovely

just the way she is.
