So Mote It Be
She reclaims her power

She reaches out and takes hold,
Pulls her power back in to the fold,
From way out yonder to all she sees,
She draws it back, so mote it be.
**
She stands within her truth, no matter how dire,
Using the pain inside to stoke her fire,
Digging deep, she sets her energy free,
From the cruel words sent to thee.
**
She holds her memories close to her chest,
And honours those ties now laid to rest,
The heartbreak burns, highlighting where she went wrong,
She guards her strength, standing strong.
**
She bows her head, her heart listening to a song,
Realising she can no longer belong,
Her emotions well in hand, her lessons obeyed,
She reclaims her power as it returns today.
**
She stands whole, her energy restored,
Protected from harm by a warded door,
If it’s meant for her it’ll flow free,
What’s hers will arrive, so mote it be.
**
As she utters these words, she starts to feel,
What is broken inside begins to heal,
Her energy peaks, filling the cracks,
She reaches high, claiming her power back.
**
When dawn begins to brighten her day,
Peace surrounds her, here to stay,
Her heart beats calmly, her emotions free,
Acceptance now the key, so mote it be.
About the Creator
Colleen Millsteed
My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
