Attract and entice

with

the silken smoothness

Of your faux-balm-like

words

You soothe, calm

and

lull us into a false sense

of security and trust

Standing on high

feeding us the lies we want

the lies we need to sleep well

Smooth of tongue

Soft to our ears

False promises

Delightful ideals

We're all equal

We're all important

Smooth to our soul

With a knife to our back
