Smoke & Trees

Poem by Desireé Marie

By PhrostedPhoenix 13Published 9 years ago • 1 min read

There's A dark feeling in the pit of me but it's not in my stomach, It's like a wisp of black smoke, circling the very pit of my soul, not allowing it to escape. It slowly chokes, withers, & falls... So many sounds.

Now I feel empty, like I've lost everything; and with every tear that falls another piece of my heart is shattered by the jackhammer known as Fear... so many jagged edges.

And my veins are like a forest full of bare trees; someone is cutting them down with the edges of a blade. Each leaf like a drop of blood ...So many piles.
