A ball of yard rolls into the room,

bringing about a kittens sudden boom.

He tackles his prey ever so swiftly,

no matter how long or build so thickly.

Pawing so swiftly he brings forth a line,

pulling it away, saying this one is mine.

Longer and longer the line forever grows,

attracting attention from familiar foes.

Soon comes a tackle from beyond the chair,

another descends from up in the air.

Bunched together they make a cute pile,

fluffy enough to make anyone smile.

They tug and pull with all their might,

claiming their prize hidden from sight.

Soon it unravels and all tumble away,

leaving behind a scene of dismay.

All is not lost for we are all here,

to wrap it again and bring forth good cheer.
