Smartphone

that we love to slide

By mitty anegoPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

In pockets snug, our phones reside,

With endless screens we love to slide.

We laugh at memes from far-off lands,

While dinner’s cold in mother’s hands.

We know what Taylor Swift just wore,

But not what Dad is crying for.

We scroll through wars and viral trends,

Ignoring texts from our real friends.

Addicted? Sure! But don’t you see?

It’s just my daily dopamine spree.

From TikToks wild to news that’s grim,

Reality’s become quite dim.

We swipe, we like, we stare, we tap—

Our social lives now just an app.

So close, yet far—what irony!

We're lost in smart phone fantasy.
