Slack Tide

Jellyfish never mean to cause harm- it’s the ebbs and flows the push and pulls, that sting.

amidst the chaos and the waves

that seem ceaseless, there will always eventually be a slack tide, in which you won’t be expected to rise,

and you won’t have the capacity to fall.

you will just be,

free from the forces of gravity,

a lack of push and pull- vitality.

no external energy

swaying your perception of reality

making you question your truth,

your sanity,

minimizing you to a pawn in a chest game

or a means to an end,

coercing you like a rip tide.

here, in this stillness,

you will be unstressed,

not tested or expected to do anything,

but float.
