You left me as a rotting corpse and

Then turned your back as I transformed

Into a skeleton who

Writes you letters, only

To tear and burn them

And this is me

Attempting

To rise;

Heal

heartbreak

    Really arresting and poetic imagery! Congrats on the Leaderboard. But for a nonet, I'd double check the 2nd line "Turned your back as I transformed" which I think is only 7 syllables...

    Heartbreaking. I hope that skeleton grows muscle and mends quickly.

    Boom! This has a real darkness - the kind that comes from the grief and bitterness of a bad breakup. Well done, Poppy!

    OH I love the darkness of this so much! The corpse/skeleton concept leaves such a visual. I really love the determination of the ending as well!
