Sitting on a cloud
Watching the world passing by

Sitting on a cloud
I sat upon a cloud one day,
So soft, so white, so far away.
I thought it would be light and dry,
A perfect seat beneath the sky.
But then a chill crept through the air,
The cloud grew dark, no longer fair.
A sudden drop, a cold surprise,
And rain fell swift before my eyes.
The sky let go its silver streams,
Like broken threads of distant dreams.
The cloud beneath me slipped and spun,
No place to hide, nowhere to run.
Each raindrop traced a silent mark,
A quiet storm, a sky grown dark.
The world below, a shadowed sheet,
Where earth and heaven’s sorrow meet.
So if you climb where clouds drift by,
Remember they still kiss the sky.
A seat of mist may seem so grand,
But rain will always take a stand.
And when you fall, as fall you will,
The sky stays vast, the air grows still.
Yet every drop will let you know
The cloud was never yours to own.
