Sinking Drowning

No way out going down, down, down

Sinking Drowning

The water takes without a sound

cold fingers pulling, dragging down.

Breath slips away, a fading spark,

lungs heavy, lost in liquid dark.

The surface shimmers far above,

a cruel mirror, out of touch.

Limbs move slow, a useless fight,

sinking deeper into night.

No calls for help, no final plea,

just silence wrapped in a blackened sea.

And all the world, so far, so thin,

the waves close tight and draw me in.
