I recognize the road as end, not means
For I have never known another home
Uncomfortable in domestic scenes
My feet are always itching far to roam

Nothing is more natural than motion
Consult your lungs or veins if you want proof
Perambulation merits devotion
I crave only the night sky for a roof

Never alone am I on the night road
For you, my silver sister, smile at me
Between us, not a single debt is owed
We both respect the other's privacy

Loneliness blooms into cool solitude
In your sweet light, which always smooths my mood
