Silent Violence
Take me anyways
Zipper shuts
Knots tied
Salt pours out
My eyes
Silent pain
Eats away
Bend me backwards
forget my name
Piece it together
Cherish me
I won't get better
I want together
Perishing
Cut me open
Harvesting
Sell my organs
Take all of me
Leave me with nothing left
Steal my last breath
I would rather be dead then without your earthen eyes
Break my heart, if you must
Break my bones, break my trust
I would give you
Everything
Everything
everything
You would give me
Nothing
Nothing
nothing
Stop taking my heart and splattering it on the ground
Stop saying you will
then not doing it
And then doing it anyway
after you say you won't
All this time
all this time
Couldn't you see
Inside...
i'm
crying
My face is
blank
Blank slate
Empty plate
Shiny and new
Reflect my face
I don't want to see me
Unless it is in the reflection of your eyes

This poem was born of having someone proclaim their love for me over and over again, in words only, where their actions fell short in almost every way. I cared for this person deeply, but I will never speak to them again. Just a reminder that it is okay to let go, permanently.
