Silent Disease

In the absence of sound,

silence reverberates-

a derecho through damp chasms;

in sort of a low timbre.

High pitch-

it feeding on acerbic tones;

anxiety settles in,

stoic... I-

not alone on this precipice.

This disguise-

festers beneath;

Melodically melting away-

leaving vibrations;

a cadence unheard.
