SILENCE
An acrostic in free verse

Sensitive are her ears to the whisper of the wind.
Intensely she strains to push away the mildest sound,
Lest her rest be ended.
Ended, ended! In agony she moves for the hushed air.
Nerves jangling, her slumber ends, and she strikes out.
Catching the breeze in her grip, she squeezes and it fades,
Ending her disturbance and inviting rest to return.
