Silence Is Violence: A Family Reflection

Say It Again

Their food is a perfectly constructed lie

Consumed all day long, every day of the year

They thrive on fabrication

But they are not writers; fiction permeates their lives

They stay silent, yet spread violence all around

After they believed in it so fervently

That the line between life and fantasy blurs

For a few incompetent souls

A view reinforced by thousands of lies

They stay silent, yet spread violence all around

Long ago, they lost their minds

The books read in childhood have been forgotten

The moment they decided to grow up, they lost their souls

They lay abandoned at the bottom of the ocean

They stay silent, yet spread violence all around

In the past, they spent time at the cinema

Drawing inspiration from concepts and characters

Now they laugh about it and about the exercise, too

Because walking isn't as respected as driving

They stay silent, yet spread violence all around

They lost their minds for the sake of power

A meaningful life is not seen

As something worth striving for

Better they just sit at home in front of the TV

They stay silent, yet spread violence all around

They act out every move they see

Taking it out on those they love

And in the end, they claim

That someone finally stood up to them

In reality, they are fighting their younger selves

And blaming everyone around them

They stay silent, yet spread violence all around

Open your eyes and live
