Do you wish to embark?

Are you prepared for your last sunset?

By nightfall, the hue of your pupils,

will fade to black.

*

What do you need from Jealousy

and her gaggle of heckling patrons?

What frights dwell within you,

for you to entertain us with?

*

Beneath is where we will go.

Purge you from the temple you reside.

We chuckle, you think you can bewitch us?

I’ll be your unsightly answered prayer

*

You, who lust for Egyptian sheets on the bedroom floor

speckle-painted interior walls,

head pressed against the headboard.

With a lingering cigarette in between your lips.

*

But if you must,

I’ll grant you this moment,

Go on, I applaud your selflessness,

We will never meet again.

We’ll play with each other’s broken hearts. Let us exchange our pieces like trading cards.

I’m too bored to notice, and you are too high to notice the air beneath your feet.

I have poems to share.
