Look at our shiny shiny, flashy new thing

The most important, cutting edge kinda thing

Even if you have one like it, you still need it

Even if you don't need it, you still need it

Don't miss out, use your plastic, take out credit

Don't miss out, pay the price, join the trend

It's the latest big thing to hit the market

Since the last big thing

All your friends have it

We know you really want it

We made it for you

Many different colours

Many different styles

There's so many different sizes

It out performs all other devices

What, the price seems steep?

That's a sign of quality

that extra 100

Is equal to

More effort

More skill

More capabilities

More power

More storage

More versatility

More ways to own you

It does so many things

You didn't know you needed

Oh, dear loyal consumer

If only you knew

The plans we had

They aren't really bad

(Don't)Trust us

Our corporation

The faceless (profit-hungry) entity

We just want to (own) help you

Market directly to you

So you never need to worry

So you never miss out

So we have you

Exactly where we want you

It never stops

We never stop

We want

Your money

Your data

Your hopes, dreams, aspirations,

friends and family

Not nearly as benevolent as you hope

Far more nefarious than your paranoia suggest

Sign away your freedom and privacy

Sign away your life to us

Welcome us into your home

Rely on our products

The convenience will help you forget

The uncomfortable and unpleasant truths

Behind it all

Truth be told, I am a slave indeed, and I'm dependent 🫣 Awesome, expressive poem, my friend!

Damn, the truth in this is horrific and making me want to purge all devices, but, like you say, β€œ Even if you don't need it, you still need it.”

  • We are slavesssssssss! Lol! I loved this! 🍩πŸ₯

So much truth, so poetically stated. Well done!

  • Oh yes so true! I loved the way you described this. We’re nearly all stuck in this pit that keeps sucking us in further. You illustrated it in such an amazing way, with some humor too, though dark. Loved it!
