Shine

A short poem about being different

As much as I wanted to shine like a star

It would’ve been quite a big painting job

A bucket full of white on me

An illusion created, just for a scene

Only because there deep inside

I thought it would be better to hide

When all these people cled in color

Shine and light so bright, these ”others”

Inbetween these beautiful birds

Now there stood I, ashamed, unheard

Underneath my painted feathers

Glittered through, the shade of terror

Black as night and ebony

The god forsaken inner me

Just because I had the wish

To shine and share the others bliss

To do and talk and love like them

I thought I would be happy then

Seeking what they have for joy

I felt like trying to find Troy

—————————————

Now finally I burried hope

Instead accept what I was born

I fly beneath the silver rain

The black is freed from sorrows paint

I will not have what they do share

But finally, I do not care
