Shifting Gears
...speed towards the light
When life becomes a winding road
And the path ahead seems unclear
Sometimes we must embrace the change
And shift gears without fear
In youth, we start off in first
Eager and full of delight
Our dreams and passions fuel us
As we speed toward the light
But as we age and gain more experience
The road begins to twist and turn
We must downshift and navigate
As new lessons we must learn
The middle years bring challenges
And we shift to third or fourth
Families, careers, and obligations
Loom like mountains to be crossed
But as we crest the top, we see
A vista that takes our breath away
We shift into overdrive
And take in all life has to say
The road may curve and wind again
And our gears may have to change
But we keep moving forward
Because life is always in range
So when the journey feels uncertain
And we're not sure what to do
Just take a deep breath, shift gears
And let life guide you through.
