on the wind, a melody plays

See which way the world is spinning and run the other way

When it seems the moon could be plucked from the sky

And the blue curtain pulled away

The daffodils and violets were picked before the paint could even dry

Rivers stand still as the lakes and ponds swirl inside their bodies

And the bees aren’t making their honey at all anymore

Something’s off inside the house that’s been standing for centuries

When the house mouse eats the cat then runs back to her hole in the wall

Yet on the wind, there are still distant ringing melodies

When the cat used to roam outside just to caterwaul

East is North

West is south

The clouds always touch the ground now

With an ever-present fog to keep the monsters hidden away

The downpour changes direction causing a flood in the house

Wring it out and place it in the sun to dry

It shouldn’t take any more than a day

For Fun
