What is Veterans Day all about?
It is known that there are men and women
On walls with guns. They must protect the one
That can’t defend himself. They were chosen
To save the nation before their time’s done.
Veterans stood for the guards at the gate.
At one time, they served and brought honor forth.
They sent downrange the discontent and hate.
And shielded the east, west, south, and the north.
A day of freebies is just the gravy.
Real veterans know that the day is for
Marines, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy.
The thoughts of the cost stay from every war.
So, go get your breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
If you served with honor, you’re a winner.
