SHELTER

An acrostic

SHELTER
Photo by micheile henderson on Unsplash

Safety in the midst of arid gibber-plains,

Held surmounting littered pebbled stones.

Enclosed from the seething

Lion toiling in its fangs as the vultures talons wait to pluck my remains.

Thirsting after my blood as I sat at the table prepared for me.

Effaced from my memory, I peaceably

Rested.
