She Walked Through Doors That Never Opened For Her
She made it happen all on her own

She Walked Through Doors That Never Opened For Her
The carpet held its breath beneath her steps,
Red like every warning she once ignored,
Eyes followed, some in awe, some in quiet judgement,
None of them knew what it cost to walk forward.
Velvet draped across her shoulders like armour,
Soft to the touch, heavy in truth,
She wore every lesson stitched into that lining,
Every careless choice from her youth.
Rooms like this used to feel like belonging,
Now they echo with something else,
A distance she cannot quite put a name to,
A silence she carries herself.
Glances fall sharp as broken reflections,
Some admire, some quietly dissect,
She learned long ago how to hold her head steady,
Even when drowning in self-respect.
Love once stood like a door left open,
Warm light spilling into her hands,
She turned away chasing something unpromised,
Now she finally understands.
Freedom tasted sweet in the beginning,
Like champagne that never runs dry,
Then mornings arrived with nothing but questions,
And nights that refused to reply.
No one writes headlines for quiet regrets,
No crowd gathers for what could have been,
Still she walks like a story worth telling,
Even with shadows stitched in between.
Strength is not loud in the way they imagine,
It lives in continuing on,
In wearing your truth without softening edges,
In standing long after the song.
