She's Inside the Binding

do you cling to Rupi Kaur's

words like i do,

running full speed

ahead, along the off

beaten stanza path,

so not ready for them to end

that you fall off the cliff

of her short sentences,

edge-of-the-world diving

into the abyss,

third eye hungry for

more of yourself

to help you hopscotch

across half-eaten

inferences

and crawl out of the

Mariana's trench that is

the divider

between one page and

the next so that you can

reach the poem on

the next page to

become baptized with self-discovery

once more
