She'll wait

forever

A hound sits on a chain in the backyard

Grateful for the scraps

It's such a wonderful reward

Tail wagging at your silhouette through the windows

Wondering when she'll see you next

Keeping her locked in limbo

Wondering when she'll see you with wide, watering eyes

Forever waiting behind your house

Sat so comfortable in his arms

wrapped in a blanket on the couch

You never stop to think to yourself

'Did I feed the dog in the backyard'

'Is she out there still'

'Waiting on me'

'Waiting out there alone in the dark'

Could you step out the door

Smile at your dog

she's so full of hope that could never falter

Waiting

Whining

Praying

you hadn't forgot about her

But you never opened the door

Never even left his arms

You glance at the window

she sees your silhouette

And she waits some more

This one got me! It really captured that dynamic many people can get stuck in with unhealthy relationships. Great job
