She is a Ray of Sunshine

When Stillness Lets Light In

She believed she was the shadow—

cast by something greater,

trailing behind brilliance

as if light was never meant for her.

She walked softly through her life,

as though any sudden step

might stir what wasn’t meant to be moved.

She kept her thoughts tucked away,

her glow dimmed to polite.

But something rose to meet her—

not loud, not bursting—

just quietly stretching across her surface,

like morning

returning to a place it never truly left.

It didn’t come from outside.

It came from within.

And in that quiet moment,

she realized—

When she learned to glow in her own darkness, she became the glimmer of hope she’d been searching for.

She wasn’t a shadow.

She was the shimmer.

The hush before awakening.

The breath before the truth speaks.

She is a ray of sunshine—

not the kind that burns,

but the kind that stirs something

deep beneath the skin.

She does not ask the world for light.

She walks into it

knowing she brings her own.

And this time,

nothing will dim it.
