She Is A Broken Mess
An explosion of love, passion and anger
I see her and there’s no other way to describe her
She is an absolute mess, as I’m sure you’ll agree,
The state of her emotions, that dark look in her eyes
She successfully passes as normal or so she believes.
***
She’ll stumbled over flat ground, tripping with ease
Picking up her freshly broken pieces and moves on,
Embarrassed, due to being the centre of attention
She waltzes out with her head held high and strong.
***
She struggles to talk as she stutters and stumbles
Her words and feelings held hostage by her fears,
You can feel the rush of her anger, her frustration
As she needed her strength and not her damn tears.
***
She stands there willingly before you, head bowed
Her warm bloody heart held in her battered hands,
She shows you her brokenness, her sorrow, her pain
But she will never bow down, pridefully she stands.
***
She bites her tongue, holding in her rage and anger
As she attempts to still the tiny tremble, the shaking,
Her feelings jumping and jiggling, trying to break out
Her love, her passion and her anger, almost escaping.
***
No matter how you look at her, there’s no denying
That’s she’s a hot mess, a bat shit crazy cyclone,
She knows she is a nightmare, a gory horror show
But also shines brightly, as pretty as a rhinestone.
***
She is made up of messy emotions, all out of control
Gale force feelings locking her into the eye of the storm,
Spinning faster and faster as she suddenly shatters
An explosion of love, passion and anger transformed.
***
Once the commotion dies out, you’ll see strange signs
Left by the ferocious destruction, after she withdrew,
Then you heard her warn, “you must take a safe detour
Around my brokenness, before it makes a mess of you.”

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
