She…

She hears the pronoun,

So profound in sound,

That the skies could open up and smile on Her face.

She hears Her name,

So flawed but divine,

The world could recognize Her grace.

Her? They do not recognize HER.

For she is not the norm.

She wears rainbow ink and body hair proudly on Her arms;

An extra part that shouldn’t be there,

In a “normal” society.

She holds her integrity close to Her mind,

Her values and ethics at the front.

Values that should not make sense,

In a “normal” woman.

She bears Her life partner within Her heart,

Her love within Her soul.

A love that should not exist in a “normal” heart.

Throwing solid words of stone, they greet Her with disdain, saying

“Gross”

“Ugly”

“Freak”

Or “Plain”!

Though the world shall greet Her with weary hearts of coal,

She will light the world a new flame someday,

Inspiring social earthquakes.

Their love will shine freeing light on the wrongs of the truths that lurk within us all.

Knowing thyself is the truest freedom’s call.
